We’re here to help
Thanks for using Secret Message. Most questions get answered faster below than they would by email, so it’s worth a quick scan before you reach out.
Before you contact us
Lost your link?
The fastest fix is to create a new one. We don’t store lost links in a way we can retrieve, since we don’t tie them to personal account data — that’s the same privacy setup that keeps your messages anonymous in the first place.
Wondering who sent a message?
We don’t store sender identity, so we genuinely can’t tell you who sent a message, even if you ask. If a message feels off or comes from someone you don’t recognize, the simplest move is to ignore it and move on. If it’s threatening or abusive, see the section below instead.
Getting spam or unwanted messages?
Two steps usually clear this up:
- Delete your current link.
- Create a new one and share it only with people you trust, rather than posting it somewhere fully public.
Want to turn off notifications?
- Click the lock icon in your browser’s address bar.
- Open Site settings.
- Find Notifications and switch it to Block.
Want to delete your link?
Go to your profile settings and use the delete option there. This takes your link offline right away.
Received a rude or inappropriate message?
Don’t respond to it — engaging tends to encourage more of the same. Use the block option so that sender can’t reach you again, and report the message if it crosses into harassment or threats. Anonymous messaging works best when people use it in good faith, and reporting genuine abuse helps us keep it that way for everyone else.
Still need help?
Email us at secretanao@gmail.com and include:
- Your Secret Message link, so we can look into the right account.
- A clear description of the issue — the more specific, the faster we can help.
- Anything unusual you’ve noticed, if you think someone is misusing the platform.
We read every email and try to reply as quickly as we can, usually within a couple of business days.
